Food For Thought . 02

..I haven't bought myself a pair of shoes with my own money since June 09 2012..

..The last pair of shoes I bought myself was the Yeezy 2's at $245..

..Before that pair was my South Beach Elite 9 on April 15th (I paid $450 for my early pair) and Playoff XII's on March 6th (I paid $200 for my early pair)..

..Between the time frame of March 1st to July 27th of 2011, I spent approximately $2,395 on sneakers..

..Do The Math..

..Is it worth it?..

P.S. I hope you don't think I'm trying to deter people from buying sneakers, I'm just voicing my view on how I see it now, that I'm on the outside looking in.

P.P.S. Take into consideration I wouldn't even pay those type of prices for an early if it wasn't for the ways of now that leads me to believe it's easier to dish some extra loot out for a pair 2 months early and also allows me to the ease of not having to deal with lines, bullshit, stress, possibly missing out and still having to pay that same exact price after drop date to a reseller.

lol i use to think the same thing, it didnt add up how much i spent on shoes and how much my pay check and bills. people might say get a better job but OK? what happens if theres a fire earthquake? imma gonna put all 30 plus shoes in my car and where does my lil girl and wife go? fuck that i got two feet and too many pairs of kicks, so sadly i said bye bye to the shoes and got a decent amount of money for the kicks not as much as resellers..blah blah. good shit def. now you might be opening up peoples minds and think just a little bit.

Really isn't. Though investing might be the brightest thing to do. I now try to look past every sneaker and invest into this dream.

Hmmm hey life is short if buying kicks makes u happy just do it. its your money your decision everybody has an addiction. but if its tearing your life apart then u have to come to a point of reality and make a change. Plus people spend money on stupid things so shoes is not a biggie if u have a goal to get to then u will stop. dudes that will never stop jumpmanbostic ,dj delz, the mayor etc like really do u need 200+ shoes 150 should be the max. i have sneakers i havent even wore yet lol. but yea this is all nike and jordan brand fault releasing too much heat. i will fully retire next year with 2 jays and im done

Not worth it in my eyes, unless its a pair you're just dying to have. Even when you got the bread to cop sneaks, your priorities change when u get older. I woke up one day, had a funeral to hit, went in my closet, no hard bottoms but I had Jordans. No suits, but I had True Religions. I made serious changes after that day. Shit Def, you been killin em a long time, you made your mark. Sneaker game aint goin nowhere bro.

I feel you man, i also got out of the sneaker game, once i started to give meaning to the things that are worth while, like a nice car, house, grown up attire, professionalism shit. you cant wear a hot pair of jay's with a shirt and tie, niggas need to grow up eventually and get their grown man status on. sneaker game is too fucked up anyways, New niggas standing in line for weeks FOH ..im gone.

Harlemfella, if there was a message that deserved to be posted 3 times, it was that one. Maybe that will sink in for some people.

Every sneakerhead will come to this realization it's just a matter of when. Funny how some sneakerheads cop shoes just to impress other dudes.

It's not worth it man, just be a little more patient. Things will fall into place.

thanks for this post def. i appreciate the honesty in that you listed a few prices you paid for the pick up's. that should shut up the few fools that think you get heat for free. also, when you break it down like that and give that total dollar amount since march it does really make you think.

when i get out the calculator myself i have probably spent what equates to close to a deposit for a fucking house on my collection so far. sure, its been over the space of 4 years but still. the house is coming next march/ april but crazy when you look at it like that.

i must say, i enjoy looking through my collection and am so glad i came across your youtube clip of the oreo 6's. from there came the communication with yourself and with that a whole fucking heap of education on all things sneakers. because of you i discovered sb's which are now my favorites. i am truly appreciative of all the help you gave.

one day the game may return strong and respectable. i aint holding my breath. until then though its time to simmer down and get this house bought....but probably with a few g.r pick up's here and there.
