Not trying to hate, just looking out but don't ever get Kobe beef here in America. It's not the real deal. What we get in America is a crossbreed of American cattle (like Angus) and Wagyu cattle, Wa meaning "japanese" and gyu meaning "cattle." Just like saying American beef, its a generic term. True Kobe is raised and slaughtered in the Kobe district to their strict standards. They don't ship that to us.
It's all a scam. The american food industry can charge an arm and a leg for our American "Kobe" beef simply because the FDA doesn't care what adjective they place on it as long as it says beef after it.
Hope this saves you some extra vacation money.
